The first time I heard this track I nearly vomited and died. I wasn’t ready for it. The guitars were far too brash and were a total fucking assault on my eardrums. This was March of last year.
Fast-forward nearly a year later and this is easily one of my favorite tracks. Ever. It’s the least LCD Soundsystem song that LCD Soundsystem has ever created. Maybe it’s because this was for Greenberg, maybe not. No loops. No synths. No samples from 70s Kraut bands. Just piano, some nasty blues guitar, a disjointed yet slinky bassline, and minimal drums that sound like Joy Division at quarter speed. Oh and a lot of screaming.
Maybe it’s more Iggy Pop and Lou Reed than anything else. You decide. Check it out.
